AI Is Now the Middleman Between You and Your Client
Apr 10, 2026Hello friends, and welcome to Educated Marketing Decisions, where we give you insight and marketing ideas for the aviation industry.
Let’s get straight to it because this shift is already happening, whether the industry is ready or not. You are no longer speaking directly to your client. AI is now sitting in between. And if that doesn’t make you rethink your marketing strategy… it should.
The Relationship Has Changed
For years, aviation marketing was simple (not easy but simple):
-
Build relationships
-
Show up at trade shows
-
Have a solid website
-
Rely on referrals
And that worked. It still does to a point. But today? Your customer is no longer doing deep research the way they used to.
They’re asking:
-
“Who’s the best MRO for this?”
-
“Who can I trust with this component?”
-
“Who should I work with?”
And instead of browsing they’re getting one curated answer from AI.
AI Is Filtering You Before You Even Get a Chance
AI is now:
-
Deciding what information is relevant
-
Filtering who gets mentioned
-
Recommending who gets considered
Which means you’re either included in that answer or you’re completely left out. There’s no “second page of Google” anymore. There’s just visibility or invisibility.
Most Aviation Companies Haven’t Caught Up
Let’s be honest because someone has to say it. A lot of aviation marketing today still looks like:
-
Random posting
-
Generic messaging
-
Hiring people who don’t understand the industry
And then expecting results. That approach doesn’t just underperform anymore, it gets ignored by AI completely.
Visibility Isn’t About Traffic Anymore
This one hurts a little, but it needs to be said: More website traffic does NOT equal more business and more followers does NOT equal authority, Because now the real question is: Does AI recognize you as a credible source? If the answer is no you’re not even in the conversation.
What AI Actually Looks For
AI doesn’t care about fluff. It prioritizes:
-
Clear positioning
-
Consistent messaging
-
Recognizable authority
-
Content that answers real questions
In other words: it favors experts, not noise
So What Should You Be Doing?
If you want to stay relevant (and not get filtered out), here’s the shift:
1. Become the Source, Not the Option
Stop trying to be “one of many.” Position yourself as the answer
That means:
-
Sharing insights
-
Taking a stance
-
Educating your audience consistently
2. Build Authority Where It Matters
Let’s not overcomplicate it. LinkedIn is where aviation credibility lives
This is where:
-
Decision makers pay attention
-
Content builds authority over time
-
AI pulls signals of expertise
If you’re not active here in a strategic way you’re missing the game.
3. Create Content That Solves Real Problems
Your content should answer what your client is already asking:
-
“How do I reduce downtime?”
-
“What should I look for in a vendor?”
-
“Who can I trust?”
If your content doesn’t answer questions, it won’t get surfaced.
4. Focus on Trust, Not Just Attention
Anyone can post content. Very few build credibility. And in an AI driven world: Trust is what gets you recommended. Authority is what gets you chosen.
